One of the main requirements to comply with the recent labor reform regarding subcontracting is the registration of companies that perform specialized works or services with the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (“STPS“), through the Registry of Specialized Service or Specialized Works (“REPSE“) platform.

On September 1, the transitory term for registering in said platform ended; therefore, the STPS will begin a REPSE compliance inspection phase, taking into account that 70% of the information submitted by the companies is self-declared. Therefore, those companies that present irregularities in their registration will be inspected, in order to verify that the information submitted is accurate and truthful, without carrying out a massive inspection.

The head of the Decent Work Unit of the STPS said that as of September 1, 71 thousand companies had completed the process, 93% of which received a response, 88% of which were positive and the remaining 12% negative. Notwithstanding the above, companies whose registration was rejected can resubmit it.

Likewise, a call was made to the companies that do not have the registration, so that they carry it out as soon as possible, in order to avoid the consequences of non-compliance with the provisions established in the labor reform regarding subcontracting.
