With the purpose of contributing to the exact observance of the Social Security Law, on August 31, 2022, an Agreement was issued whereby it was reaffirmed that persons over 15 years of age and under 18 (working minors), who provide a paid, personal, and subordinate service, that is, who have an employment relationship, are subject to the mandatory Social Security regime, and therefore enjoy the broadest social security coverage.
Having said the above, it was ordered to instruct the Directorate of Incorporation and Collection to carry out and promote a national information campaign on the obligation to incorporate underage workers into the mandatory Social Security system, through which, in addition, it is disseminated that they enjoy the right to the benefits included in the occupational risk insurance; illness and maternity; disability and life; retirement, unemployment at advanced age and old age; and daycare and social benefits.
The foregoing, considering the limits established by the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, the International Treaties to which Mexico is a Party and the Federal Labor Law.
