On December 1, two thousand twenty-two, in the presence of the members of the Board of Representatives of the National Minimum Wage Commission (“CONASAMI”), and exercising the powers granted to them by Article 123 of the Mexican Constitution, a wage increase for 2023 was approved.
Pursuant to Article 570 of the Federal Labor Law (the “Law”), minimum wages will be fixed each year and will become effective on January 1 of the following year; therefore, such wage increase will become effective on January 1, 2023.
A 20% salary increase from $172.00 pesos per day to $207.00 pesos per day was agreed for the entire Mexican Republic except for the Northern Border Free Zone, a geographic area comprising 43 municipalities in the states of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas, which will increase from $260.00 pesos per day to $312.00 pesos per day.
