On March 13, 2024, the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice ruled on amparo in review 849/2023. As a consequence of this resolution, the content of article 37 of the Law of the Retirement Savings Systems, regarding the maximum percentage that the Afores may charge for commissions, was considered constitutional.

As a result of the above, the maximum percentage that Afores may charge for commissions in 2024 will drop from 0.92% to 0.57% of the content of workers’ accounts, which represents a 38% reduction.
